The Science of Seed Sprouting


Seeds are in a state of dormancy until conditions are met for germination. For a seed to sprout, it needs water, oxygen, and warmth. (❗️Some seeds also need light) First, it absorbs moisture and oxygen, which triggers the embryo to grow and the seed coat to break down. Then the seed can draw in water and oxygen to grow roots(radicles) followed by the shoot that contains the leaves and stem
